My Writerly Self - Week 6 - Notebook LM

Karen Eastland

Friday, 1st November

Today, I released my song Will You Remember Me? earlier than planned, surprising my listeners. This track, focused on the emotions of a long-distance relationship, conveys the fear of being forgotten as couples interact only via Zoom and cell phone. I’m thrilled with how it turned out, and I hope it resonates with everyone who listens. 🎶✨

Monday, 4th November

I began writing a children’s song, Come To The Window. After drafting the lyrics, I used Udio to identify the natural chorus, refining the structure further. With a clear idea of the sound I wanted, I moved the lyrics into Suno to find the perfect voice and melody that would appeal to children. 🎵🪟

Tuesday, 5th November

Today, I completed Come To The Window. The song was inspired by the many stories I’ve written for my grandchildren, which I now plan to share on my revived YouTube channel, Grandma Claus (YouTube Channel). I premiered the song on both @kareneastland and @grandmaclaus5620 to announce the channel’s revival and share my plans for its future. The feedback has been heartwarming! 🧸💖

Wednesday, 6th November

The focus today was on refreshing the Grandma Claus channel, preparing it for a series of fun, humorous stories. I’m excited to release a three-part tale featuring a fluffy white cat, a small ginger cat, and a white mouse. These light-hearted adventures will add joy to the channel before December, setting the stage for more original content. 🐱🐭✨

Thursday, 7th November

I outlined several Christmas songs today, aiming to release one song per day starting December 1st. These festive tracks will be available on both my channels: @kareneastland for rock, grunge, and heavy metal Christmas songs, and @grandmaclaus5620 for children’s Christmas tunes. It’s going to be a busy, magical season! 🎄🎸🎅

Friday, 8th November

Today, I wrote the pivotal episode of The Adventures of Millie and Sandra, titled The Eye of Carly’s Hope: Carly, The Eye. Starting with just the word “Cranzoo” (a term I created with a different meaning for every being), I let the story unfold through discovery writing. This process keeps me as surprised by the twists as any reader would be. I’m thrilled with the result and can’t wait to see where the next episode takes me. ✍️🌌
