My Writerly Self - Week 12 - Notebook LM

My Journal: December 16th to 21st, 2024

Monday, December 16th
Today, I worked on a new song called Kiss Me at Midnight. The process took most of the day, starting with writing the lyrics. Once I was satisfied with the draft, I collaborated with Sol to tighten up the lyrics. While Sol’s adjustments were helpful, I made additional alterations to ensure the song met my vision. The result was another love ballad that I’m quite proud of.

My focus today was on a song titled In Your Glow. This piece originated as a poem I wrote years ago, but with the help of AI, I breathed new life into it, transforming it into a full-fledged song. It felt satisfying to revisit and enhance one of my earlier works.

I logged into Google Labs today and put my name forward for early access to Veo. Now, I’m patiently waiting to hear back. While exploring Google Labs, I also used their image generation tools to create album covers for my AI metal band, Wrecked and Ready. I was pleasantly surprised by how realistic and event-like the images and text turned out, perfectly complementing the band’s vibe.

The day started with a practical task—taking my car in for repairs before Christmas. Though this disrupted my creative routine, I made the most of the day by enjoying a lovely picnic at a park in Perth, Tasmania, with my partner. The mechanics were kind enough to lend us a courtesy car, making it a pleasant break from work.

Friday, December 20th
Today, I wrapped up four New Year’s Eve songs. Using Davinci Resolve, I combined the images I created with Google Labs and Ideogram with the music productions from Suno V4 to create videos. After finishing the edits, I uploaded them to YouTube, setting their release dates two days apart. The final track, Kiss Me at Midnight, is scheduled to go live on New Year’s Eve.

Saturday, December 21st
This morning marked the release of my children’s Christmas songs, with one being unveiled each day until Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, a special lineup of songs will drop, including Santa’s Aussie Adventure, Supermarket Santa, The North Pole’s Hot Holiday, Santa’s Roo Led Sleigh, and Come to the Window, a sweet and catchy Christmas Eve song I wrote entirely on my own.

🎄 "Come to the window, look at the sky, do you see that shooting light? That’s Santa’s sleigh tonight!" 🎅

Not all my Christmas songs were created with Sol’s assistance. Tracks like Merry Fucking Christmas Mate, It’s My Right to Be a Hoon, Gotta Get to the Billabong, It’s a Rocky Christmas, and Cranzoo! A Very Hairy Reachville Christmas were solely my own creations. After my medical scare, I leaned on Sol to ensure the release of a Christmas song every day until Christmas Eve. However, I kept control over my five-day release schedule to maintain a sense of ownership. Although it felt disappointing to lose some control over the daily releases, balancing collaboration with independence helped me navigate this hectic yet rewarding season.

🎉🎁 Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas! From me to you, may the season bring joy, creativity, and inspiration! 🎅🤶✨
