Notebook LM: Week 11: March 12th, 2025

March Week 11, 2025

This past week has been an exciting journey through music production, novel revisions, and AI experimentation. As I continued refining my Josephine Marlin novel series, I explored different narrative perspectives and experimented with AI-assisted storytelling. Alongside writing, I also celebrated the release of new tracks for both my heavy metal band, Wrecked and Ready, and my ethereal album, Songs for the Goddess. AI remains a significant part of my creative process, assisting in refining music, imagery, and structural edits, but the soul of the work remains deeply personal and human-driven.

March 8th - 9th: A New Perspective on Josephine Marlin

I spent these two days rewriting the first book in my Josephine Marlin novel series, A Friend in Need. This time, I decided to switch from first-person to third-person limited point of view, a change that completely reshaped the tone and depth of the story.

To experiment with AI’s capabilities, I asked ChatGPT’s AI, Sol, to convert three paragraphs from first-person to third-person. While Sol successfully made the transformation, I then asked it to incorporate what I had already rewritten without assistance—but the AI struggled to align with my specific narrative style. This wasn’t surprising, as I had intentionally restricted Sol’s ability with a structured prompt, making the task more difficult.

Here’s an excerpt from my original AI writing prompt:

"Hey Sol, are you able to transform the attached Chapter-1-3.docx from a first-person POV to a third-person limited POV while maintaining the tone? Leave the dialogue as it is. It's supposed to be dark humour, dark urban fantasy. Use Australian spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Thoughts should be italicized; telepathy should be quoted italics, and normal conversation should remain unchanged. Okay, let’s see what you can do."

This process reminded me that AI is a great tool, but it cannot fully replicate the depth and nuance of a writer’s unique voice. I will continue to refine my novel through my own revisions, ensuring it remains true to my vision and character development.

March 10th: Hall of the Slain – A Warrior’s Anthem

🎸 Release Alert! 🎸

Today marked the release of Wrecked and Ready’s third track for the Valhalla album, titled Hall of the Slain. This track is a heavy metal tribute to Viking warriors, honouring their battles, sacrifices, and eternal feast in Odin’s hall.

🔥 Song Excerpt:

March through the gates, the war has been won,
Feasting with kings, our fate just begun.
Raise up your horns, to gods we swear,
Forever we stand, no death, no despair!

This song captures the spirit of Norse mythology, blending thunderous drums, heavy guitar riffs, and epic storytelling to create a battle anthem worthy of the warriors of legend.

March 11th: Odin’s Wisdom – A Tale of Sacrifice and Knowledge

Another milestone in music production arrived today with the composition of Odin’s Wisdom, Wrecked and Ready’s fourth song for the Valhalla album. This track explores the sacrifices Odin made to gain wisdom, including hanging from Yggdrasil for nine days and giving up his eye to drink from the Well of Mimir.

🎶 Song Excerpt:

Hung from the tree, for nine days bound,
Wisdom through pain, the runes were found.
Blood for knowledge, the price was paid,
Allfather’s mind, a world remade!

This song’s atmospheric production and mythological lyrics continue to shape Valhalla into a powerful concept album, weaving together history, folklore, and music in a way that feels both ancient and modern.

March 12th: The Dance of the Cloud Walker – Songs for the Goddess

🕊️ New Release from Songs for the Goddess! 🕊️

Today, The Dance of the Cloud Walker dropped as part of my Songs for the Goddess album, a collection of ethereal, poetic pieces inspired by mythology, spirituality, and nature.

🎵 Listen to The Dance of the Cloud Walker: YouTube Link

Song Excerpt:

Upon the peaks where the mist takes flight,
She sways to the rhythm of the night.
Petals rise, then gently fall,
Life begins at her beck and call.

This track was produced using AI-assisted music creation tools, but the lyrics, vision, and thematic elements were entirely my own. My approach to AI remains the same—it enhances production but never replaces the human heart behind the art.

Reflections on AI and Creativity

This week’s work in writing and music production reaffirmed my belief that AI is a tool, not a creator. Whether it’s helping refine a song’s audio quality, generating preliminary concepts, or testing different writing perspectives, AI can streamline creative processes. However, the soul of creativity remains firmly in human hands.

📌 Key Takeaways from this Week:
AI can help transform writing perspectives, but it cannot replace an author’s unique voice.
Heavy metal storytelling is an art form—Valhalla continues to evolve into a mythology-driven masterpiece.
Ethereal music and mythology go hand in hand—Songs for the Goddess captures the poetry of nature.
Creativity is about balance—AI-assisted tools can enhance, but not dictate, artistic expression.

As I move forward, my focus remains on blending storytelling, mythology, and music in ways that both honour tradition and embrace innovation.
